Teachers and students from around the province have collaborated with SET-BC on a new Universal Design for Learning resource. The website-based resource. Located at www.udlresource.ca, was developed from a variety of print and online resources as well as from numerous interviews with BC educators who are successfully implementing UDL in their K-12 classrooms.
It highlights the many benefits of utilizing UDL strategies with students and includes:
- video interviews with BC teachers and students in UDL-based classrooms as well as with experts in the area of UDL
- theoretical framework descriptions
- implementation plans
- classroom strategies and assessments
The resource can be used by individual educators following the self-directed course format, by school-based teams interested in exploring UDL as a group, or by those who are looking for resources to supplement their own workshops or training. A new community area will be set up in the next few days to welcome discussion on various UDL topics.
We hope you find www.udlresource.ca useful. We will continue to update it with new videos and information and encourage you to use the feedback tool to offer suggestions for additions or improvements.
