kids playing on ipadLiteracy and iPads – This presentation will focus on ways iPads can be used to support student learning in literacy and provide an introduction to meaningful ways this technology can be incorporated into the classroom. There will be a brief introduction into how apps such as Book Creator and Toontastic can be used to enhance and augment literacy activities in the classroom, as well as discussion of how the iPad’s built-in accessibility supports such as voice-to-text dictation and text to speech can be utilized to support literacy. A few web-based applications that can be used with iPads such as Padlet, QR codes and Kahoot will be explored as well.
