website_front_pageWe are excited to be starting the 2015-2016 school year with a brand new look to our website.  Our team has worked hard over the summer to reorganize and update our site – we hope you like the changes!

With a bit of exploration, you’ll notice that all your old favourites are still here – SETstories, student resources, PSAP, and our web-based training resources.  Here’s how the site is now organized:

This area connects you to information about our program.  You’ll find descriptions of the services we provide to BC school districts as well as links to program news and updates.  If you are looking to contact a SET-BC consultant, you can find a complete staff list under the Contact Us link.  A link to a list of current SET-BC District Partners is also available under the Partnership area.

This is the area where you will find all of the professional development and training opportunities that SET-BC provides.  Here you can locate information about our face-to-face facilitated Pro D events and workshops and see a calendar of upcoming events.  You can also access all of our on demand web-based resources including our self-directed courses, recorded presentation, and technology tutorials.  A new feature we hope will help build educators’ capacity to use technology more effectively is televisionSET – this video gallery offers updated video clips on a wide variety of technology implementation topics.

Our very popular curriculumSET and pictureSET are now located in the Student area of the site.  These are our repositories of freely downloadable activities and communication boards.  You can also find a link to the ARC-BC repository of alternate format curricular materials in this area.  If you are looking for great examples of students using a variety of technologies successfully, you’ll want to check out SETstories as well.

You’ll find some important links in the Technology area of our site.  For those BC school districts looking to access software and apps through our Provincial Software Acquisition Plan, the PSAP link takes you to information about the program and a listing of what is currently available.  Under Technology, you’ll also gain access to information about provincially coordinated classroom and student technology projects.  Under Technology those teams who are currently using technology on loan from SET-BC will find helpful information and links for technical support.

This area of our site is the beginning of our Community services.  Obviously you know about our blog (!) but we are planning on growing this part of our website in the coming months.  We will be starting a community discussion or sharing area and will be providing tools for student resource submissions and community feedback.  Keep checking back this year to see what’s new!

As with any new website, there are bound to be little issues (broken links, pictures not displaying properly, videos that don’t seem to work).  If you do come across something that isn’t working properly, please copy the page link and drop an email to  We appreciate your help!

Enjoy exploring the new SET-BC website 🙂
