I am an Occupational Therapist from Australia and am passionate about helping children learn and grow to be active citizens of their community. My interest in pediatrics was sparked when completing my university studies and having the opportunity to complete a placement in Shanghai, China at a Children’s Rehabilitation Centre. Since graduating I have worked in the disability sector both in early intervention services (0-6 year olds) and then in school age services (6-18 year olds). Collaborating and problem solving with teams in classrooms is something that I enjoy doing, and I firmly believe that is the piece that enables children to grow and learn. Supporting children to fulfil one of their primary ‘occupations’ to be a student, and engage in the curriculum, with the aid of assistive technology is something that I am excited to be a part of.
I am delighted to be living in Vancouver, as it brings increased access to travel opportunities in the northern hemisphere! Travel as part of my role at SET-BC is a bonus, but also something that I enjoy doing in my spare time. I also like spending time outdoors, as well as indulging in as many cultural experiences, such as live music events and performances that I can find.
