Counting Nickels
Learning Level: Primary School
About this Resource
Grade 1. In this project, the student can learn to count by 5 cent increments by dragging this coin into a counting bin. On subsequent pages, an amount is presented and the student drags coins into the counting bin to make that amount. The student can then write an equation to represent what they found (e.g.: 4 X 5 = $0.20). This activity supports the BC Ministry of Education PLO for Grade 1 Literacy Foundations Math(2011) Shape and Space Measurement: identify, count, and create equivalent sets for coins and bills up to $100. Created by Kathy Ryan.
