About this Resource

Grade 4, and other students. This unit of activities accompanies the Click-Guide-Learn Clicker/ClickerPaint resource in the SET-BC Learning Centre. There are 7 lessons in total. The students start the whale unit by showing what they know and want to know using a KWL chart, next they read a story, participate in a labeling activity, create sentences using the word banks, draw and stamp a picture and end the unit by writing their own story demonstrating what they have learned. This set of activities supports the BC Ministry of Education PLO for Grade 4 Science: compare the structures and behaviours of local animals and plants in different habitats and communities. The original lessons are based on a Mapping Unit, but this unit is one of two additional units (salmon and whales). These activities allow students to learn about mapping, salmon and whales in an engaging, interactive and fun way! Adapted by Maureen Lafleche.
