About this Resource
Grade 1. In the Label sequence, the student will learn the names of food and recognize their labels. In the Write sequence, the student can write simple sentences about food. The Words sequence is an errorless learning task in which four words within the food category are presented in print. The student is to select the one that is spoken. This activity supports the BC Ministry of Education Learning Outcome for Literacy Foundations – English Language Grade 1/Reading and Viewing: read and demonstrate comprehension of commonly used words and phrases found on familiar reading materials (e.g., forms, brochures, banking information, prescription information, menus, food packages).
