AAC in the Classroom

Are you an EA or a teacher working with a student who uses AAC to communicate? It can all seem pretty daunting, but Doug and Arika are here to help make it easy.

Doug is an educator with SET-BC and has a lot of experience supporting AAC inclusion in the classroom. He strips all the jargon back to only what a teacher or EA needs to know to help a kid develop language while using AAC. There is a strong emphasis on class-wide strategies and taking it slow.

Arika is an AAC SLP with SET-BC (that’s a lot of acronyms!) Traveling throughout the province, she is developing quite the reputation due to her ability to teach others how to be amazing communication partners with students using AAC. She works with Teachers, EAs, and entire classes of students to help them be more effective and compassionate communicators
