Sarah is a Grade 9 student at Matthew McNair Secondary in Richmond (School District #38). Sarah is supported by an amazing school-based and district team, including Hannah Liu (Special Education ACCESS Teacher), Jinny-Lynn Rubia (Educational Assistant), Lisa Mackay (Speech Language Pathologist), Janet Lee (Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments), and Alex Tham (Occupational Therapist). This multi-disciplinary team had the opportunity to come together to determine the best solution for Sarah and her learning journey.

The SET-BC Team, including Iren Heer (Educator), Kim Heinrichs (TSVI) Pearl Chow (OT), Serg Fazylau (SLP), had the pleasure to work alongside Sarah and her team to trial an assistive technology solution that would work best for her and her communication, physical access and vision needs.

After trialing different equipment solutions, Sarah is currently using a Surface Pro with Grid 3 and Clicker 8 on a rolling floor mount, Jelly Beamer Twist wireless switches on 90-degree switch mounts using a Crick USB Switch Box, a CloverBook Pro video magnifier, and a TalkingBrix 2 single-message communication device. We are excited for Sarah to continue using her assistive technology to share her thoughts and interact with others at school and beyond.
