Sarah Chadwick

Provincial Educator

About Me

I have been a classroom teacher since 2005 and first taught at a First Nations School and then to the public education system where I educated students from grades 1 to 10. I completed my undergraduate degree in English Literature at UVic and finished my BEd at UBC. Between receiving my BA and BEd, I worked at an independent school as a Language Arts tutor and assisted students with improving their literacy skills. At the VSB, I have been a SET-BC consultant and a project teacher for an inner-city school in Vancouver. For the past three years, I have been working with classroom teachers across the province to assist them with implementing technology into their curriculum and it’s been exciting to see how effectively teachers have been using iPads, computers, chromebooks and robots for coding. I have also been facilitating workshops on chrome apps and extensions and iOS accessibility features with SET-BC.

My Interests

Apart from spending time with my family and experiencing the many great restaurants Vancouver has to offer, I am passionate about technology in education and learning about the ways educators from across the globe use it in their classrooms. I believe that every student has their own learning style and technology is one way to embrace their uniqueness. I have also been interested in learning more about coding in the classroom.
