Learning Level: Elementary School

About this Resource

Grade 4, grade 6: This activity supports the BC Ministry of Education Prescribed Learning Outcomes for Social Studies K to 7(Identity, Society, and Culture): Grade 4 – distinguish characteristics of various Aboriginal cultures in BC and Canada. Grade 6 – relate a society’s artistic expression to its culture. This Clicker Grid Set enables students to explore the importance of symbols, in understanding the First Nations people of the Pacific Northwest. Students explore the totems of the Pacific Northwest as an inspiration for their own painting. They use Clicker Paint to design a totem to symbolize their spirit or what they have a great connection to. On the final page they write about their art work. Created by SET-BC
