About this Resource

In this gridset, the student will learn and write about cities. In particular, they will learn about Mexico City and how it developed. The content for this gridset has been extracted from Global Cities, Outlooks 6: Chapter 7. This activity supports the Ministry of Education Learning Outcomes for Grade 6 Social Studies – Human and Physical Environment:
-using maps, and other resources, identify the major environmental features of selected countries
-give examples of how geographical features have affected the development of cultures
-use appropriate terminology to discuss population and settlement (e.g. rural, urban, surban, metropolitan regional district, density, immigration, emigration)
