Emily Olson
Provincial Educator

About Me
I was a community support worker and ABA therapist for 10 years before completing my Bachelor of Education with a minor in Learning Disabilities at Simon Fraser University. Prior to joining SET-BC I worked with learners from Grades 2 to 10 in a variety of settings; at a Canadian international school abroad, with the New Westminster School District, and with the Vancouver School Board. During my time as a Classroom Teacher I repeatedly witnessed the power and potential of educational technology to make learning accessible, engaging, applicable, and relevant to all learners. I am also passionate about implementing learning technologies to give further voice, expression, and autonomy to exceptional students.
My Interests
I have travelled through 26 countries in Europe and Asia, and am looking forward to exploring new parts of my beautiful home province as a Consultant with SET-BC. I love to hike, bike, picnic, run, snowboard, and generally get outside whenever I can. I also teach yoga, cook, and am a novice gardener.
