Amer & Mike's Excellent Adventure

Sherrie says, "I wanted to showcase the work that two of my students, Amer and Mike, had been doing."
"In March of 2008, my reading group read a book about plants. Through the guided reading process I realized that many of the students had never been to Burns Bog, which just happens to be about two blocks from our school. A mini fieldtrip was planned and off we went to discover the wonders of plant life in a bog. The students thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience."
"September 2008 the students were still talking about their fieldtrip. At this time we decided to invite Ms. Semple’s class from Cougar Canyon School to join us on a tour of Burns Bog. Amer and Mike would be the guides. The boys were very excited about planning, organizing and implementing the tour. They met the students, teacher and Educational Assistants, guiding them on a very informative walk through the bog."
