About Me

Most recently, I was a teacher for the Saskatoon Public School Division in the Online Learning Centre. (ELA 10A, ELA 20, Journalism 20, Photography 20, Creative Writing 20 and 30.) I am an Instructional Designer. I have designed online courses using D2L and Bb. In my years of teaching in the classroom and online, I have sought best practices to support diversity in the classroom and chosen web based resources and materials to help students be successful. I have also developed technology training for classroom teachers.

I worked as a Learning Leader for the Calgary Public Schools AISI project, which assisted teachers in designing their courses in D2L. I have worked as a Learning Strategist, IPP (IEP) coordinator and Resource teacher. I also designed the new curriculum for Creative Writing 30 in Saskatchewan.

I have over fifteen years’ experience working as a Resource Teacher. My experience was mainly at the high school level working with students with difficulties such as: learning, hearing, vision, gifted, and spectrum disorders. I taught at the School for the Deaf working with deaf/blind children. I obtained a level three sign language.

I hold an M.Ed. in technology from the University of Calgary, a Diploma in guidance and counseling (U of C) and a B.Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan.

I am thrilled to be a part of the SET BC team as a Tier 2 Consultant.

My Interests

I am looking forward to exploring technology possibilities with classroom teachers as we work collaboratively to support student learning. My interests are in Instructional Design and using technology to help students show what they know. (Flipped Classroom, the ipad as a learning tool, apps for struggling readers and writers, podcasts for the classroom, digital citizenship). When I’m not teaching, I’m writing poetry, creative nonfiction and short stories.
