Elizabeth Welsh

Speech & Language Pathologist

About Me

I grew up in Ottawa, Ontario and moved out to British Columbia to do my undergraduate degree at UVIC and graduate degree in Audiology and speech Sciences at UBC. I worked as a Speech language pathologist, specializing in augmentative and alternative communication in the Campbell River School District for 20 years before joining SET BC. During my time working in the school district I enjoyed working within the classroom environment collaborating with teachers and developed a keen interest in literacy development especially with non-verbal students. I also witnessed the rapid growth in technology and what it could do for students who previously were not able to be independent in different areas, giving them a chance to show what they could accomplish on their own. I am excited to be a part of providing that independence for students.

My Interests

Besides being interested in any new and exciting technology to help kids, I love living on the west coast and have enjoyed exploring new communities while visiting students and their teams. I enjoy travelling internationally and within Canada and have done quite a bit visiting my son, daughter in law, daughter and 2 adorable granddaughters who all live back east. I sew and create jewelry when I’m not doing a job that I truly enjoy.
