PSAP Update

The Provincial Software Acquisition Plan (PSAP) is moving into its third year of providing BC schools with literacy, numeracy, and communication software.  There are many new software titles available with online training resources being developed weekly to support the programs.  Check out our new look and all the latest PSAP information online.

Virtual Voices Village

This new website will feature work by BC students who use assistive technology. Virtual Voices Village will be functional and appealing, promoting literacy and community building activities around a 2010 Olympics theme.  Please consider this an opportunity for your students to build writing and communication skills as a part of their academic activities.  For further information and to get involved, contact Joe Cash at  (604)269-2223.

What's new in SET-BC Resources?

Be sure to visit SET-BC's Learning Centre for a bounty of AT resources, tutorials and presentations and to learn about SET-BC services and student stories. As you review the topics listed in our Main Library, take special note of the new resources marked with 2005 in the title.

  • Take a look at the new Alternate Access Technology module. This online workshop includes webcasts, a comprehensive resource guide and narrated software demonstrations.
  • Check out our popular Accessible Books Collection.  Accessible books are available free of charge to schools in BC. Please note that the requestor must own a hard copy of the book.
  • Don't miss pictureSET - a valuable resource for educators. You can download almost 1000 ready-made resources for picture-based visual schedules and behaviour, and communication supports from this searchable database.
