Overview
In addition to the ongoing technology and implementation support provided to students through our service delivery activities, SET-BC implements a number of initiatives each year that extend or enhance our services to special student populations. These projects and programs often provide district and school teams with a means of involving students in action research, evaluation of new technologies, and ways to showcase their use of SET-BC based or district-based equipment. In addition, these initiatives provide a way to pilot the use of technologies with new student groups not currently served by our service delivery model. Districts or teams interested in participating in these projects and programs or who would like to suggest new initiatives are invited to contact us at any time during the year.
Classroom Technology Projects
Each year SET-BC conducts a number of classroom-based technology projects supported through vendor donations. These projects are designed to investigate and explore how new technologies can be used to support students’ IEP goals or how to extend the use of existing technologies within students’ educational programs. The projects focus on curricular goals for classroom based projects. Projects utilize personalized learning (21st century) strategies, and demonstrate effective inclusion of all students. Read More

Remote and Rural Schools Project
SET-BC conducts a small number of projects each year designed to specifically support schools in remote and rural areas of our province. These projects investigate and explore how technology can support diversity in these isolated classrooms. The SET-BC provincial team works with district and school staff to identify student needs and the types of technologies that can support curricular access. In addition to funding support for technology, the schools involved in the project receive training support for the technologies available through the school district. Read More
