What is it?
PRCVI and SET-BC sponsor the GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) Project to explore the capabilities of GPS for students with visual impairments and assess its usefulness to support Orientation & Mobility (O&M) capabilities. Trekker, the accessible handheld PDA-based GPS technology by HumanWare, was selected for this project.
The GPS project is now in its third year. 12 GPS teams, comprised of a student with visual impairment and their Orientation and Mobility (O&M) instructor, will participate in this project.
