How to order

ONLY AVAILABLE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

The SET-BC Accessible Books Collection is available to all  educators in Public and Independent Type 1, Type 2 and First Nations schools in British Columbia. Educators in BC can download the Accessible Books request form  to request an Accessible Book.

Orders are filled promptly and include free Accessible Books made by students and teachers.

Please see copyright information before submitting your order.

Refer to the Accessible Books list by Author or Title for Accessible Books currently available. A PDF version is available as well.

  • Download the order form
  • Select and list your book titles
  • Add your signature
  • Fax to SET-BC at 604-261-2256 Elaine Proska

Remember, to order an accessible book file from SET-BC, you must sign for proof of ownership of the requested title. Once the accessible book cd is received, plan to attach the CD to the inside cover of the book. There is one Accessible Book file per cd.

The files have been created using a variety of software applications for either Mac and/or Win operating systems. Before you order, please note the software application and type of computer for which each "accessible book" file is designed. Also remember that if the application has a "player" you can run the file on the computer platform indicated without having the application program.

Known Challenges

For Mac users of OSX and later version:

New Macs and Imacs with the new Intel chip do not support Classic OS mode including Powerpoint or Powerpoint Player.

Possible Solutions: Purchasing iWork will give students using Apple computers the Keynote application which is required to run accessible books from SET-BC on new intel based Apple computers.
