| Activities & Descriptions | Number Concepts II introduces students to place value, number patterns (hundreds chart) and factoring. Penn and Gwen, lively and entertaining penguins, lead students through the various exploration and practice activities in a game like atmosphere. There is strong visual and auditory support throughout the program’s activities. The program also has teacher options which allow some customization of the environment (e.g. the number range). It is completely accessible and can be used with the Intellikeys alternate keyboard (overlays need to be ordered separately) as well as with other mouse or switch access methods.

| User Profile | This program is well suited to students in the early intermediate grades (or are cognitively at that level) who are having difficulty learning place value, number patterns and factoring concepts. Because of its game-like activities, it creates a motivating environment for reluctant “mathematicians”.
