CoWriter SE is a word prediction program that integrates several user specific dictionaries into a customizable prediction environment offering excellent support for the struggling writer. CoWriter is one of four programs that are integrated into the complete SOLO package, but it can also be used individually with any word processor. CoWriter has strong auditory support, customizable student access to tools, and the ability to create and use topic dictionaries.

The three levels of main dictionary (beginner, intermediate and advanced) make it appropriate for any student with basic literacy skills. The interface is somewhat more appropriate for primary and intermediate students, but the use of the floating prediction windowmakes it useful for high school students who are using mainstream word processing programs like MS Word.

User will need to be able to begin words (even if using phoentic spelling), scan (visually or by sound) a list of word choices and make appropriate selections. The program has complete accessibility options for alternate input and switch users.

• The version of Co:Writer SE that is normally shipped can only be used on Macintosh computers running OSX or higher. If you will be installing the program on an older Macintosh running OS 9.x, you will need to order a "backwards compatible" version. Please email us for further information.
