On Halloween was written to develop early literacy skills, Halloween vocabulary, guessing skills and the interactive use of voice output communication aids. It is recommended that when you print this Writing with Symbols book, you place each page in a page cover. This will allow for mixing of the pages and therefore true guessing when predictions are made. The final Guessing Page should be separated from the other pages for “guessing”. The single message VOCA user, can say, Ding dong, “Trick or treat!” and add, “Who’s there?” if you wish, asking the partner to make a guess from the Guessing Page.
