Erin O’Halloran, Western Sales Representative for Dynavox is supporting SET-BC teams around the province with hand-on training workshops on the Dynavox and Enkidu product lines. She recently provided two dynamic 2-day workshops on Vancouver Island: January 30th and 31st in Nanaimo and February 1st and 2nd in Victoria. Attendees included parents, speech-language pathologists, teachers, educational assistants, SET-BC Consultants, and CAYA Consultants. The Nanaimo workshop hosted people from Tofino, Port Alberni, Campell River, Cowichan Valley, Duncan, and Nanaimo. The Victoria Workshop hosted people from Sooke, Saanich, and Victoria.
Series 4 training was extensive and included choosing page sets, modifying pages, linking pages and creating new pages. We also explored alternate access methods, and learned how to import digital photos for symbols and backgrounds. The DV4 and MT4 are able to be connected to the computer for students complete school work and control the computer’s actions. We explored how this is done with serial cables and the infra-red AccessIT.
Participants were also able to explore other dynavox and enkidu products such as: MINImo, DYNAwrite, Palmtop and Ichat.
Erin will be visiting Vancouver island again in April to provide training on ‘impact software’ which underlies the Enkidu products: Tablet XL, Palmtop and Ichat. |
