The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) conference afforded BC educators, therapists, and community the opportunity to attend sessions presented by leading educators, researchers, and vendors. The popular SET-BC sessions were filled with information, demonstrations, and examples of students with autism spectrum disorders in BC schools who benefit from the use of Assistive Technology. |

SET-BC consultants collaborated with professionals from BC school districts, the University of British Columbia, and the Provincial Outreach Program for Autism and Related Disorders to develop the extensive AT resources that focused on AT for the special needs and special program needs of students with autism. The Assistive Technology for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders; Ideas That Work resource book, complete with a cd of narrated demonstrations and resources, was developed and distributed to conference participants. |

SET-BC presented five sessions on best practices in assistive technology for students with autism spectrum disorders. The Assistive Technology for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders;Ideas That Work sessions focused on the use of technology for literacy, communication, socialization and transition support in the school setting. Case-study examples were an integral part of each presentation. |
