This is an easy way to teach a child to tie a bow. Start with two different coloured shoelaces tied together and then placed around the child's upper leg while the child is seated in a chair. It is easier to learn to tie a bow here, and then transfer the skill to the shoe when it is mastered. In this method of tying a bow, both hands are performing the same movement at the same time rather than other methods where both hands are performing different movements. This makes learning to tie a bow easier for many young children. Video also included. Created by Linda Calliou and Leah Kelley. grade1 grade2
